November 29, 20205 yr Is there a way to operate the ALT inc/dec knob on the MFD via FSUIPC? When I operate the knob via mouse and do logging to file or console, nothing is shown. Already tried "Ap Alt Var Dec Fast", but that didn't do anything also .... i5-2500k @3.3GHz l 8GB l GTX560TI FSX l Orbx l AS16+ASCA l Win7-64
November 29, 20205 yr Author No way. These " XML airplanes are not susceptical to Mouse Macros" as the FSUIPC manual states ... Any other solution for that problem out there ...? i5-2500k @3.3GHz l 8GB l GTX560TI FSX l Orbx l AS16+ASCA l Win7-64
November 30, 20205 yr Author Ok, solution found. It is the usual procedure with XML planes ... 1. Switch ON FSUIPC logging to file 2. Create new log file 3. Dump LVars 4. Turn knob on MFD (or any other switch/knob/button) 5. Create new log file 6. Dump Lvars 7. Compare logfiles and find the Lvar that has been changed In my case: L:CUSTOM_AP_ALT_VAR_SET_ENGLISH And then write a lua-script to do it's job ... i5-2500k @3.3GHz l 8GB l GTX560TI FSX l Orbx l AS16+ASCA l Win7-64

Any other solution for that problem out there ...? You are well out of date. The facility to mouse macro with XML panels has been available since LM incorporated the facility in P3D4.2 following discussions with Pete Dowson. There are apparently some problems with assigning functions with PMDG models, but they are a special case. Most other aircraft appear to work as expected. I have around 200 mouse macro functions assigned and in use in P3D4.5 with complete reliability. John B
December 5, 20205 yr Author Is this (mouse macros) also true for FSX? I will switch directly to MSFS2020 after upgrading my system. Right now I am quite happy with the ol FSX. I am getting around 20 frames/sec with the XL560, AS16+ASCA, Orbx Germany and located at EDDF. i5-2500k @3.3GHz l 8GB l GTX560TI FSX l Orbx l AS16+ASCA l Win7-64
