Installing 2 LM p3d 6.11 in the same partition???
The licence allows only one active install per licence, so you would need to purchase 2 licences if you require 2 installations, both activated, even if they are on the same drive. Regarding the feasibility of 2 installs on one drive, Is there a particular reason for needing this. It should be possible, if you hold 2 licences, but I would have thought it would probably just lead to confusion at some point when managing files. Much easier on seperate drives. To work with one licence, assuming you have a complete installation with addons, you could deactivate it by uninstalling only the Client software. This should allow a new complete default installation which could then be activated and used. But to use the original version you would have to deactivate the new one, then reinstall the client folder for the original one, and activate it. Rather messy.

Skyraider
Lovely image. So well captured and the aircraft rendering is superb. So realistic when enlarged. I also tend to prefer the ground appearance in 2020, as shown here, for this type of location.

A tale of caution about selling on eBay.
Totally sympathise. I've had mixed experiences selling on eBay in the past year. I sold a processor and later a graphics card, both at sensible prices, and had quick sales with no issues, and positive responses from both buyers. I then sold a high end motherboard which was in perfect condition when it left here, in its original box, complete with protector over cpu socket. I have been building my own computers for more than 30 years, and know how to look after the components. So I was not happy, when a day after the board was delivered, I had an abusive email from the buyer, claiming I had sold him a faulty board with pin damage to the cpu socket. It was clear to me he had been careless, either with removing the protective cover, or when fitting his own cpu. However this was impossible to prove, despite me having taken close up photos of the board, in perfect condition, before and during packing it. I knew the cpu socket was undamaged when it left here, but the only option from eBay was to accept a return and a full refund to the buyer who had caused the damage. So I was left well out of pocket.

Saitek yoke sticky
Wipe the metal tube with clean tissue. Move yoke to get at all parts of the tube. Then get a can of PTFE DRY SPRAY and spray this on and around the metal tube and nylon bearings. Slide and rotate the yoke while spraying. The PTFE spray lubricates without leaving any sticky residue to attract dust.

This is worrying stuff (AI171)
Very interesting and thanks for posting. It makes a change to hear from real experts in the field of air accident investigation. Their cautionary approach to drawing conclusions is a marked contrast to many posts immediately after the accident.

Experience in MSFS 2020, compared to Prepar3d
It was actually developed from MS ESP, not FSX. Your comment suggests you have not explored P3D in any depth. There are very significant differences from FSX, especially in the options for multi monitor use, or things like saving panel states, which are totally reliable in P3D, when they certainly were not in FSX. I currently run a fully functioning cockpit on P3D 5.4 which I could not even begin to run using FSX.

AVSIM
Fair point, but my post was an observation, not a moan.

AVSIM
This is the wrong forum for website issues, but I have noticed Avsim being rather intermittent for a while now. It goes through very slow phases, like earlier today, and then recovers to normal access speed again. Seems to be not obviously related to site usage.

what size TVs for full wrap-around visuals?
Biggles2010 replied to EGLD's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etcThere are a number of very informative videos on Youtube about setting up multiple views. Also a number of videos of existing home setups with different side angles, mainly showing screens in the 55 inch plus range. I would recommend a search because seeing them in use is far more useful than written descriptions. Regarding the side angles, I personally think it gives a better effect with the side screens in the range of 45 to 60 degrees rather than at 90 degrees. The latter puts the side screens very close to your head, and gives a very oblique view which does not work well with flat screen tvs. You can try it with your existing screen. I would suggest hanging dark curtains, cinema style, to mask the side areas beyond the rear edges of the side screens. Then, in use, you will only notice the screen images.

The last of the Few has passed away
John Hemingway was indeed one of a special generation. Life was much harder then for most people, but they had a sense of duty which is sadly lacking today. I'm sure there are still young men and women who would step up, but today they would probably never be selected for training. The RAF is now run by those who think the woke agenda is more important than professional ability. Cost cutting and peacetime apathy have reduced flying hours drastically for all aircrew. More senior officers have even less flying experience, because they have been promoted rapidly from desk to desk. I despair, at what has been done to the RAF. On my first squadron tour, our Commander in Chief was AVM Johnnie Johnson, the highest scoring RAF fighter pilot in WW2. He was very different to today's career officers. Right now we cannot even train enough combat ready pilots to adequately man the few fighters we now posess.

Best way to setup MSFS 2024 ?
Pleased you're getting it sorted. I'm following this with interest because I would like to move my cockpit from P3D to2024. I'm curious what method you are using to get your forward view, without the instrument panel. Does it give you a realistic perspective when on the glideslope. YouTube videos of home cockpits with a custom view often show a wrong perspective, which becomes very obvious on the approach. It usually looks much too flat.

"You do not have enough space on this disk"
That may be the case and experts on MSFS can advise on that. I have read various posts about this on Avsim, with possible solutions. A search will provide more info. I can't help on that issue because my cockpit still runs on P3D until I can adapt it to MSFS. However it does not answer the questions about drive space. Solid state drives work best when kept below about 80% of their stated capacity. They will work above that, but become increasingly inefficient. Performance will start reducing until the point when problems begin to show.

"You do not have enough space on this disk"
Reader and Christopher Low pointed out the problem. You don't say what size your drive is, or what other drives are in use, but all drives need some spare capacity to operate their management functions correctly. This will usually be a percentage of the total capacity, (ie. proportional to the size of the drive.) Drives cannot operate right up to their stated capacity. You may have been near that limit for some time with that drive. On this particular occasion, possibly MSFS has tried to update something and decided that you need more space for that operation, or maybe some basic drive maintenance operation was going on, which further reduced available capacity when you tried to use MSFS. It sounds like it's time to consider a larger capacity drive or reorganise space allocation on existing drives.

FPS drop and stuttering with triple display
According to your specs you are running 5 computers with 3 4090 cards, one 3090 and one 1080ti. It's not surprising you are not observing the typical fps drop. This is not in any way comparable to running multi monitors on a single pc, whether it has one or 2 graphics cards.

Adding RAM
Biggles2010 replied to solito's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etcIt's not recommended. Mixing memory often leads to instability. I'm sure you'll find 64GB is more than enough for all current requirements.

ActiveSky 2016 Aircraft falling out of sky during cruise?
Like scianoir, I have used AS16 extensively in the past without any issues. I would be surprised if that was the sole cause of your problem. You have not actually said if you tested the same situation without starting AS16. If so, what result. If the problem does not occur when your other software is running, and with just AS16 shut down, it's possible you have a corrupt download. In that case start by completely uninstalling your current version of AS16. Try running the same flights, with and without your other addon software, and see what happens. Make a fresh download of AS16 and install that. See what happens. It's a good idea, after each of these of these changes to exit FSX and restart the pc, so each test gets off to a clean start. After the above processes, if the problem persists only when using AS16, I suggest raising a ticket with HiFiSim. They are experts in this field

Why is Active Sky 2016 quoted in your title? Have you shown it to be related to the problem?

Wilco Ejet 170/190 not loading
Are you sure you have the correct version of the Ejets software for FSX? Some of the later releases were only for P3D. If you are sure it's the correct version, do a fresh download in case original was corrupted. Delete original install and run the fresh installation as administrator.

FS2024 Texture Bleed-Through at Airports
When something is as blatently obvious as this, it should have been picked up before the beta was released. Calling a software release a beta does not excuse some basic degree of checking by Asobo before release. Even more so with the history of 2024 so far.

P3D V6 How many gauges are allowed in a panel cfg ?
Yes

P3D V6 How many gauges are allowed in a panel cfg ?
Not sure about the max number allowed, but it's normal to start numbering from 00 in each window within a panel cfg, and I've never seen a single window in a panel cfg get anywhere near those high numbers. Have a look at some of the other aircraft panel cfgs and see how they are made up. I suggest you backup your existing panel cfg and then renumber the gauges in that particular window, starting from 00, 01, 02 etc.
