FPS drop and stuttering with triple display

Featured Replies

I recently moved to a triple display with my 4070 TI gpu and I noticed a frame rate drop from 50-60 to 15-20. I’m running payware scenery and Fenix a320. Is it too much for my gpu to handle? I tried DLSS with DLAA and still nothing with autofps running. Any suggestions on how to make this work?

With every extra view you will loos 40-50% FPS….

word not allowed it’s that high…is that the case even if I run an additional monitor for 3rd party apps? I wonder if I need to go down to two displays

Just get another cheap video card for the other two monitors, that's how I ended up doing and works like a charm. Believe it or not, I have an AMD video card with both extra monitors connected to it with absolutely no issues at all, this is one of the wonders of Win10/11, two different brands working together without knocking each other out.

Windows 11 - Samsung 990 Pro M.2 | Asus Prime Z690 | i7 12700KF HT | DeepCool LS520 SE | MSI 5070 Ti Ventus OC | 64GB G.Skill XMP II | Lian Li 216 LANCOOL RGB | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alfa - Bravo - Charlie | MSFS 2024 - Samsung 990 Pro M.2 | Curved 27" MSI | JBL Quantum 810

If you mean you went from running the sim in one monitor to running it across all 3 together as one display, then yes you're going to see a huge hit because you just tripled your resolution that the 4070Ti has to generate and you don't mention the monitor resolutions.  If you're just running in one monitor and the others are just showing background desktop apps, something is wrong.

AMD Ryzen 9950X3D | Asrock X870E Taichi | Gigabyte Gaming OC 4090 w/EK waterblock | Full Custom Loop Cooling | Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5-6000 | Samsung & WD NVME/SSDs | Phanteks Enthoo 719 | Seasonic Vertex Gold 1200W | Keychron Q5 Max | Corsiar Scimitar Elite SE Wireless | Honeycomb Alpha and Bravo | Logitech Pro Flight Pedals | VKB Gladiator Pro NXT L&R handed | MiniCockpit MiniFCU | Alienware AW34DWF | Asus PG279Q | Win 11 Pro

I thought you couldn’t run two graphic cards with MSFS 2024? I heard it doesn’t really work well.

Hi,

I find that hard to believe seeing I'm running seven monitors off of an Asus 4090 tuf video board and a gigabyte motherboard D/P, HDMI and USB-C outputs. Yet I still get smooth performance.

Do you have a second computer then, for the second card?

You don’t run 7 outside views. You run 3. You can simple try it by deleting 2 of the views and check your framerate in Unlimited mode.

Then add an extra view and check your franerate again. The same wheh adding your third view.

You will see that your FPS drop 40-50% with each extra view

I have a 4090 , ASUS ROG mobo, 13900F @ 5,3/5.5 GHz , 2Tb M2 and push/pull liquid cooling system.

Here my server runs 2 outside views and I have a Left view client to keep FPS high.
All running in 4K. Almost all settings at Ultra and some at High. PSXT Live Traffic with Lots of AI ac. REX Atmos. DLSS 4.

It is exoensive to keep on upgrading 2 pc’s so a couple of months ago I tried with 3 views and I lost almost 50% FPS.

I tested with 1, 2 and 3 views and every extra view resulted in almost 50% less FPS.

Here a vid : all in 4K + Map Enhancement Mod (Latest Bing in HD)

If your using nvsurround you wont see such a fps hit but an uglier geometry (fish eye ) .If your using the native multi monitor feature creating independent views you will lose fps but have better geometry

VRAM is really important here in nvsurround, the higher the res the more vram you need, I would imagine 12gb will easily get exhausted especially using high res textures

You have the superior graphics card to OP with better processing power and twice the video memory.

Works fine here, I have popouts on a separate graphics card over 2 touch screens

Well, if you think about it, your GPU, CPU are rendering three times as many textures, objects, etc.
Makes some sense.
