December 9, 20205 yr Hello, forgive me if this is not the best place to post this since I am using P3D v4 but I don't see a scenery design forum specifically for that sim. Anyways I am trying to add an ILS to an airport in P3D using ADE and know the basics of how to create one but I'm not sure if it is set up correctly and need your help. So I posted a picture below to show how I currently have the ILS set up. My first question is why is the green arrow that shows the ILS so short? Usually on charts or maps it will be much longer but don't know if it really matters for this purpose. The second question is how do I find the correct course for the runway, so I know what to enter when flying. The runway is labeled as 32 but in the properties window it shows a heading of 335. Lastly do I have to connect ADE to the flight sim for everything to save or will it work as long as point it to all the correct folders that it needs. Thanks Jason Thiers
October 19, 20214 yr JT, Pertaining to the green arrow being short, in ADE it is going to be small as shown. This is normal. Regarding the inquiry of runway course, you are building your airport it appears, thus I would make the runway course 320, or tap on the local mag dec for realism if you want. You will need, or rather compile, the airport into you first first off. You can do this before your sim is open and your sim will update automatically with the new changes (assuming you have already added it to your library). You can sometimes edit and then save it when your sim is open (overwriting the file may be difficult but it sometimes work) and then reload scenery library to see the updates.
