GoDaddy is a garbage company in every way, from their management to their exploitative advertising to their actual "product", such as it is.

There's very little excuse to have anything other than a thin proxy exposed to the internet these days.    Traffic goes to a hardened proxy which has access only to the systems behind it.  The systems behind it live in a DMZ that only accepts inbound traffic from known proxies or internal sub nets and is otherwise firewalled in both directions.

Cloud technology makes this really easy, but even physical hardware should be configured this way if you at all care about your data and business.
