Hi AllJust bought FX deluxe today and got a problem. Just wondering if anyone can help.My specs.Athlon 1.2 Tbird Processork7s5a MB1GB PC2100 SDRam120 GB Hard DriveGeForce FX5200 128MB AGP cardDirect 9.0cwin xp pro sp1I got my base unit about 5 years ago and win xp was already preloaded. I subsequently downloaded Sp1 and have been running with that for a little while.My problem is that i insert disc 1 into the dvd drive and the light flashes for a few seconds then absolutely nothing happens. No sound of the DVD going round.I am just wondering if i need to have sp2 loaded and installed before the disc will even think about loading. I know that the dvd is working as i tried another dvd addon for my FS2004 and it loaded ok. Does the disc check the pc to see if sp2 is installed before it even thinks about loading?Any advice would be appreciated.Regardsflyingjock

I would highly encourage you to install SP2...I'm not sure if you can play without SP2...One thing to check before you install SP2, can you explore the disc drive (ie in windows explorer left click and browse the disk)?I want to make sure its not your drive

Hi RyanIf disc 1 is in it basically hangs with hour glass figure showing and the yellow light flickering on as if its trying to spin.Ive got airliner pilot and tried that and can right click to view that and that works ok.I also read about uninstalling dvd copy programs, ie nero so ive done that also.

My understanding (I could be wrong) is that the older DVD drives (your PC is 5 years old) may not recognize the newer DVD's. I forget the reason, but that may be your problem. Jim

Even if you do manage to get it installed it's not going to run on your machine. Does that thing even meet the minimums on the box? Without meaning to sound mean or condescending, it's time to upgrade if you want to play any modern games. That machine is fine for web surfing or playing quake2 but for any game made after 2003 it's not going to cut it.
