outside (and inside 3d) view problems

Featured Replies

Hello out there,so far, I have been quite satisfied with Fsx. No problems with the installation or the activation. Ok, Framerate could be better but I do remember the early days of Fs9 so I'm not going to start another discussion about that either. But, since a few days, I have a strange problem concerning in- and outside views. When I start up the sim, I find myself in the cockpit without any problems. But when I press 'S' I am going outside in a view straight down (just like a top-down view but closer). There is no way I can change the view from there but to return to the cockpit. When in the virtual cockpit, the view turns upward to the roof of the plane and once again, I can't adjust the view and I have to return to the 2D cockpit.Another strange thing is my flightyoke... From the moment I installed FsX the hat didn't work as it should (using virtual pilot pro). When I used the hat, the cockpit view got messed up and the only way to repair that was changing aircraft (changing and not reloading)Can anybody shed a light on this? All help appreciatedLuc 'Glaudrung' Brusselmans

Use the 'A' and the 'S'

Hi Luc,This may be "overkill" but I'll throw it out for what it's worth...It could be a joystick, assignments or calibration issue. Disabling joystick inputs (default CTRL+K) before changing views would eliminate that from the list.If you are starting from a saved flight, all the wacky views might have been saved with the flight: press pause on startup; go to each view and reset with CRTL+spacebar; resave the flight and then reload it. If they are still messed up then you can eliminate the flight itself as a source for the problem.Does the same problem exist when you create a flight? If the joystick disabled didn't improve anything, could the inputs be coming from a keyboard or mouse? Hardware devices starting to fail? Any issues within any other program? If none of these, you could at least try (if you've changed any control assignments) restoring default settings to see if that helps.Beyond that, I'm out of ideas.Hope you find an answer soon.Loyd

Loyd, some of your ideas make quite some sense so I'm gonna try a few.Although not confirmed, I guess it has something to do with my flightyoke.Assignments are out of the question because I deleted all joystick button assignments to be sure they wouldn't interfere.Starting in saved flight I can also rule out because I never use a saved flight (Addon aircraft usually don't like saved flights except when created by the developper)When I get some results, you get to hear it from me.thanks for the assistanceLuc

Loyd,Thanks for the tips.Unfortunately, they didn't do the trick but, after some tweaking, I remembered something else.Just to be sure, I deleted my fsuipc ini-file. Maybe I had set something wrong...?And Yep, that did the trick. So now I'm reading the doc's provided by Pete. Heavy stuff but worth reading when you want to get the most out of fsuipcthanks and happy flyingLuc AMD64 4600 2xMSIK9N SLI platinumNvidia NX7900GT PCI-eNvidia NX7300GT PCI-e2Gb DDR2
