I tried setting up a group so my sim only loads select sceneries, but when I went to launch the sim, the entire library loaded anyway. Do I need to disable the sceneries from the main page first before setting up a group?

Doubleclick the group label to activate/deactivate.

The checkboxes serve a different purpose: when you stack groups inside groups, the checkbox decides if a certain group is disabled with the others or not.
