January 3, 20215 yr Hi, I've freshly installed P3d v5, and I've bought Carenado 127SP G1000, I'm trying to fix some settings in graphics, I've almost everything set after reading a lot of guides, but I've a problem in gauges, when I zoom out I see the labels of the buttons almost unreadable. I've changed the pixel_size in panel.cfg to 2048 and garmin now looks better (it was awful at first time) but I don't see how to change those labels, any help? This are my options and problem: This is with zoom at 0.30 This is zoomed in into cockpit Thanks Edited January 3, 20215 yr by ec793b
January 3, 20215 yr Hi Have you tried upping the texture resolution to 2048 or 4096 textures? Just for this aircraft. What is your monitor and refresh rate? Have you tried turning vsync off in-game and using Nvidia Control Panel to lock framerate?
January 3, 20215 yr Have you tried turning off mip map? 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
January 3, 20215 yr Author My monitor settings are this ones: DEll U2419HC 1920x1080 60Hz I've made the changes and updated nvidia driver (was the windows update default one) and the result is the same: 0.50 zoom limited with nvidia and ultra texture 0.50 zoom with ultra texture 0.50 zoom with ultra texture and mip map off don't know if maybe better to reinstall prepar3d 4.5 to check Edited January 3, 20215 yr by ec793b

January 4, 20215 yr Author I've checked in several default airplanes and the fonts are more readable, I think the carenado one is the worst one, but I think I found the problem. I had set for AA 4xMSA I've change to 8xSSA and it looks more readable: I think I can play with some world complexity and leave it with 4xssa, also I think with Nvidia Control Panel I can leave better settings, but I'm curious... if I set somehting inside the simulator, and the I set other setting in Nvidia Control Panel, who has more priority? Thanks a lot for the help, for the moment I'll flight with this aircraft with that settings, we'll see when I switch to a bigger airliner if I've to set something worst Edited January 4, 20215 yr by ec793b image link
January 4, 20215 yr Author Also, it seems there is a monitor resolution problem, maybe buying another monitor with higher resolution allows me to use MSAA and improve performance, not sure really, I've a RTX 2060 what would be best in performance? another monitor with higher resolution to use MSAA or using SSAA?

I also have a 6GB 2060. Our cards are a little weak for v5 at "acceptable-settings" but if you can live with this limitation until a GPU-Upgrade, start off with the default profile from P3Dv5. Funny enough just tried SSAA but this was with default F35 over some remote outback area in Australia 🙂 Typically adjust AA on the fly, off a baseline profile at the gate or departure runway after all required (preferred) addons have been loaded. EA-On with HDR is no-go for me, my monitor is not HDR so the picture is not good. Have a 4K monitor but I typically set the resolution, as per the default by P3D, at 1920 x 1080. Can do 2048 or 4096 textures for the default aircraft and adjust that for payware aircraft after departure from a payware scenery (FlyTampa/FlightBeam/FSDT etc.). For payware addons, both sceneries and aircraft, work from default and up the settings slowly until you reach an acceptable limit, around a max of up to 4GB VRAM usage for our cards. There are people on here who don't even blink when their VRAM usage loads at around 8-10GB. It helps to create multiple profiles that are easy for you to select e.g. PMDG B747 at EGLL, FSL at FlyTampa Airports, C172 & Payware Addons etc. Key criteria being smoothness (absence of stutters) - I don't really chase framerates but my Monitor is 30Hz so in P3D, Vysnc is off and FPS unlimited but I lock the FR at around 33FPS in NVCP. I typically add on whatever is required and final settings would be tweaking the weather engine. I also choose not to run AI-Traffic for now. Many compromises but we live with what we need to, that PC-upgrade can't come soon enough 🙂 Hope this helps 333
January 5, 20215 yr Author Ok, that helped me a lot! Thanks for share the knowledge, I've concluded at the end that I'll create some profiles with different options according of the kind of flight I want to do, VFR, IFR, Payware or not, mega-airports or not, taxiway, etc... And I was thinking our GPU was good enough for Prepar3d v5, so we'll start thinking in an update
