Better sim crash recovery

Recommended Posts

When my sim crashes (P3D, Xp11, MSFS etc), Pilot2ATC doesn't handle it very well. I relaunch the sim, then I need to re-validate and re-file the flight plan. The assigned ATC box is blank, meaning I have no way of going back on ATC.

Not sure what is possible on fixing this?

Assuming P2A is running or you have started it:

1) disconnect and then connect to the SIM when it comes back up.  This clears the various state values, etc.

2) File the Flight plan

3) Assuming you're en-route, Open the Freq window and set the radio to the Center Controller

4) Give an initial call to Center like "<CallSign> at Flight Level 390"

The flight should proceed normally after that.

Hi, i changed it to Center and it responded with radar contact. Nothing then happened for the rest of the flight and I landed without any ATC contact. Was I meant to ask for descent and approach?

This will happen if you don't File the flight plan after you connect.  Otherwise, it should start giving you changes to other center controllers and then Approach control, just like a normal flight.
