January 9, 20215 yr I have made a flight plan using littlenavmaps, departure from La Gomera (GCGM) direct to first waypoint HIE , but the autopilot cut the route and turn to find the second waypoint MERAN (RED LINE) Is that Ok procedure in real life or is a bug AP game? thanks Edited January 9, 20215 yr by motishow
January 9, 20215 yr The real FMGS in the Airbus 320 variants I fly does it, too. Not like you drew it in your picture, but it will "know" its current turn radius at the current TAS and then turn to the next leg "just in time" so it won´t overshoot. One problem is that this will not be drawn on the nav map (unlike on Boeing FMS), so it can surprise you as the pilot. Very acute angles are rare in real aviation, though...so this happens infrequently. Cheers, Jan
