How To Make Aircraft Menu Thumbnails?

Featured Replies

In order to make thumbnail pictures for the FSX aircraft menu I have made jpg screenshots of addon aircraft and have tried to resize them to 256 X 128 but when I do it distorts the picture. If I try it with preserving the aspect ratio the program will not allow me to do it other than with standard sizing. I've tried two different programs but nothing helps. How do you resize to the non standard size of 256 X 128?Please help. Thanks!Mike

You don't have to resize them. FSX will read them no matter what size they are. I have several planes that I just put a screenshot in for the thumbnail and they all work fine.EDIT: one thing I did do to cut the size a little to take up less room is crop the picture so only the aircraft shows.

If you want to resize the picture to the correct aspect ratio, you'll have to do a three step process. What I do is crop the picture so the ratio is slightly taller in height than what I want. Then I resize the picture to the correct width, then I change the canvas size of the picture to the correct height. I'm using Paint Shop Pro.Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180
