Garmin Trainer 3.0 has a problem.

Featured Replies

Garmin Trainer 3.0 has a problem.
I installed Garmin Trainer 3.0 with a new installation.
The GTN750 did not work on the xp11.
When it attempted to downgrade to Garmin Trainer 2.7.1, it started operating normally.
Are you solving the problem?

I am not an xplane user but have a clear suggestion. You may save yourself time and  frustration by reading other recent topics here on this issue both here in the xplane related RXP GTN forum and in the FSX/P3D RXP GTN forum.  The mismatch that occurred between the RXP GTN and the Garmin Trainer affected installs in both sim platforms. The RXP GTN's have been updated, but if you updated the Trainer first you may need to take some other steps.

I could find the link above.
But I already removed it completely and tried reinstalling it several times.

Workaround:

You must delete all appdata's Garmin data and select the default path to install the Garmin Trainer.

Setting a different path prevents the database from being load. There was no such problem in previous versions, but starting with 3.0.0 it seems to be recognized only by the default path.

I also had troubles updating. Unfortunately right now there isn`t any statement from the developer @RXP on this nor on any of the so many open topics that recently got opened (e.g. laggy input, not powering up with some planes, etc). A little bit dissapointed by the support right now.

I have found support to generally be good. @RXP is a busy individual during the best of times. The pandemic has also caused issues and I hope all is well.

Last visit here was Dec 11, 2020. Last visit to X-Plane.org was Dec 17, 2020.

I recieved the latest garmin GTN (X-Plane) version 2.5.8.0 on 9 January 21. The update notification, download, extraction and update was easy. I have the generic setup with update notifications.

IMO I just use a bit of extra patience and hope all stay healthy. :)
