January 26, 20215 yr For certain airports the Active Sky current_wx_snapshot,txt is not being read correctly. One offending airport is RJTF. A quick look at the snapshot I found when "BKN///" is in the airport METAR, it is not read correctly. Looking through the snapshot and testing a few other airports containing the "BKN///" phrase seem to have the same problem. I have included the lines from an offending snapshot below. The airports that have trouble are RJOO,RJSC,RJSN,RJSS,RJTF and RJTT. January 27, 20215 yr Commercial Member It looks like the METAR reports for those airports all have an error in the format with the /// after the Cloud decks. Dave
January 27, 20215 yr Author Thanks for the reply much appreciated. I have been keeping an eye on the current_wx_snapshot,txt updates and the format error is not consistent. The most frustrating thing about it is that it blocks the QNH reading so it reads zero in pilot2ATC. The controller reads out the standard QNH during comms, makes for some awkward landings..
January 27, 20215 yr Commercial Member You might want to try reporting it to ASN to see if they can fix it. Dave
January 27, 20215 yr Author For general information for anyone reading (MOD please delete if not on topic). The following post on the ActiveSkyXP forum is related to the beta of the current build. https://forums.hifisimtech.com/threads/no-interpolation-though-no-cloud-information-present.12960/ The relevant support reply is as follows for people who don't want to click the link is Quote maxam Beta Team Member Jul 27, 2020 #2 Apologies for the late reply. Thank you for the report. You are correct, the METAR does not appear to be coded correctly. This might be resolved by ASXP in a future build. \Robert Halmich/ Doesn't sound too helpful, two updates since July 2020 and the changelog for ActiveSkyXP does not mention any specific resolution.
