HDR (MSFS 2020 HDR10) - AMD Freesync

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a Radeon RT 5700 XT video card with Driver 21.2.2. Samsung C49HG9x Monitor Compatible with Freesync and Freesync 2. Windows 10 with all updated updates. One DP 1.2 cable. MSFS 2020 (V. 1.12.13.0) with HDR10 enabled. My problem: on the monitor I can configure Freesync at the same time as on Adrenaline (AMD Freesync Pro = Enable), but on Windows 10, I cannot enable HDR. On the contrary, if I enable it in Windows HDR, it won't let me configure Freesync on the monitor or in Adrenaline. See: To use HDR in my game (MSFS 2020), HDR must be enabled in Windows and also Freesync on my monitor and video card, or this is not possible. Freesync replaces HDR? Someone please explain to me how it works or how it should work, all this. I'm confused.

Not all devices can handle Freesync and HDR at the same time.

To get both you at once need either the old-school Freesync 2 or with newer devices you need Freesync Premium Pro.

Though you state yours is Freesync 2 which in theory should do both.

Indeed my monitor has support for HDR and Freesync 2, however as I indicate, for some reason when I have Freesync 2 enabled, Windows does not allow me to enable HDR. I feel like I'm losing a lot.
