Using trainer default installation path (resolved)

The installer says they are installed however the trainer can't find them? Well this certainly mean there is something not properly installed.

Please do the following:

  1. Uninstall all the garmin trainer, the DB, etc.. using 'add/remove programs' in Windows.
  2. Manually delete the following folders:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\"
    "C:\ProgramData\Garmin\Trainers\"
  3. Reboot the computer
  4. Reinstall the Garmin GTN trainer
  5. Reinstall the Garmin DBs
  6. Launch the trainer standalone and see if this solves the issue.

IMPORTANT: When you download the trainer, don't run it from the internet browser (never do in fact for anything - re: security). Instead, locate where the installer is downloaded then run it manually (i.e. double click) from there.

Thank you for your suggestions, but I have applied them and others before with no avail.

HOWEVER: when reinstalling and accepting ALL presets (I had installed to my D:\ drive before to not clutter my system drive to much...) the instruments appear in X-Plane 11.52 now.

Therefore I would suggest to leave out the option to change the paths and simply let the customer accept the necessary settings instead of confusing them with that option.

Now the only wish I have left is to use the trainer as standalone program to do some training (as the name suggests 😧 )

Thanks and have fun

Depending where your trainer was installed, look for "Aviation_Trainer_Launcher.exe".  I am an FSX SE user and use default installation locations for RXP and Garmin Trainers.  Here is the path to the folder with mine:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Launcher\

You may need to click around on the tiles in the trainer to learn how to launch it.  It sometimes seems to double back on itself until you learn the right sequence.  Watch for a "Power On" selection button at the bottom right.  The launcher may launch multiple gauges, so look behind any like the G600TXI to find a running GTN 650.  An you may need to grab a corner of the 650 and expand it.
