March 2, 20215 yr I'm talking about Neil Birch's Farm Strips (last I checked was 8 volumes for sale). At first they all worked and showed up in MSFS. You could enter their new ICAO in the MSFS Welcome window and go there to depart. Then, as more Asobo updates came along many of these strips new scenery were removed even if Neils airports were in your Community folder. Furthermore you could not find their ICAO in the MSFS Welcome window. Especially if the ICAO started with AG, like AG##. After the latest UK and flap updates they are all back in the game, and you once again get what you pay for with Neil's new and reworded farm airstrips. A couple weeks ago you would get no results typing AG in Departure Airport, but now you do. And all the improved scenery is back in the game too. This is just the AG7# airports, there are many many more in the 8 volumes of Nei's farmstrips, over 200 airstrips in all. https://www.simshack.net/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=grass+strips 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.
March 2, 20215 yr I have the first 3 volumes of these but haven't yet had the time to test them in the latest update to see if they still work and look as they should. They're all simple enough I can't imagine why there'd be any issues but you never know. Have you been able to validate many of them with the UK update/
March 6, 20215 yr Author Yes all 50 in the Volume 1 that were there in the early versions of MSFS before the updates, are now back in the game. For awhile about 14 sceneries that used to show up would not any longer. But they are all back. I made 5 bush trips that cover these 50 for my own use using Bush Trip Injector at .TO. this program even automatically downloads the images that appear in the Bush Trip window that opens in every flight. It really sort makes Bush Trips very easy and fast to create because it is all auto generated after you manually make the flight plan in LIttle Nav Map So, I think I shall buy the other 7 volumes which would be about 140 more airports. There are some mistakes, stuff like backwards labeled airstrips 80 and 260 on the wrong ends of the runway from each other. But not a problem if you have a compass. They are not random errors just reversed, and so easy to spot. But perhaps the farmers who created these strips in real life did that on purpose, who knows? Lundy Island strip (which is the island just off Wales that Charles 1 ceded to the Knights Templar in the 1600's) has a brick wall added alongside the grass airstrip. Things like that make these little strips of Neil Birch fun. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. March 6, 20215 yr Why is volume 1 called a Mega pack? Does it contain some stuff from the other 7 volumes?
March 6, 20215 yr I did just now look at these but I think I'll pass. An average of 40p per airport is dirt cheap so obviously lack the quality and detail of an Orbyx farm strip. I also noticed the 'Gotcha' on his product page which states,.. All my Farm Strips are simply artistic license and are not meant to look like the real thing but just to add some life to the scenery. Talking of Orbx, they've just released Stapleford today. That's two by Orbx for MSFS so far, Stapleford and Wycombe. Edited March 6, 20215 yr by Tailwinds
