March 3, 20215 yr Just curious why anyone would still fly fsx or fs2004. I mean, I understand that when fsx came out, fs2004 with a bunch of addons still held its own...but MSFS2020 has raised the bar to a whole new level. I guess if you had a homebuild cockpit and there are compatibility issues...but a homebuild cockpit is nothing compared to VR flying. I mean at one point I even had dual projectors, but I gave up my homebuild and moved on to flyingside (FSX), aerofly fs2, and now MSFS2020 in VR.
March 3, 20215 yr There are still plenty of aeroplanes in FS9 and FSX which you cannot get for other sims. It's often comparatively inexpensive too in terms of hardware and the cost of add-ons. for example, there is no Yak 40 for anything other than FS2004, there's no Dodosim JetRanger for anything other than FSX. March 3, 20215 yr Money, personal preference, choice, variety, etc. I have X Plane 11, FSX and FS9 on my PC, and as soon as I get another SSD, I will put MSFS on that. I still play Civ3 and Battlefield 1942. Gaming isn't always about the new shiny. I have fun with PC games and get enjoyment from all of the above mentioned for a variety of reasons. I like VR, but only on occasion. Some people may need the immersion of the MSFS visuals, but I am equally immersed hunkered down behind a 2D panel in FS9 flying one of the old classic HJG jetliners.
March 3, 20215 yr Administrators Sorry to end this, but since there is NO discussions of P3D Vs FSX, FSX VS MSFS2020 is in the same category! Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!
