installing fs9 aircraft into fsx

Featured Replies

i have just installed milton shupe's fs9 beechcraft d18s amphibian into fsx. i did a manual installation and pasted the effects into the fsx effects folder, and the aircraft into the simobjects folder. the installation appeared to work well, and the aircraft looks normal. the aircraft appears in the thumbnail index window, along with all the default fsx aircraft, and it is named correctly, but the thumbnail photograph is absent and there is only a generic line illustration of a non-specific aircraft. when the d18 is selected, the next window shows a proper thumbnail photo of the d18 along with all the aircraft information.does anyone know how to get the aircraft thumbnail photograph to show up in the initial aircraft index window?thanks for any help or suggestions.steve chavin

That's why it rotates and if you use the mouse and left button, you can rotate it manually...You need to supply your own "thumbnail.jpg" image. Take a screenhot of the "second window" if you wish, then use any photo editing program to crop and size the image to 128x64, then save as JPG format to the texture folder using the name "thumbnail.jpg" ... easy!
