LNM Database Req with Navigraph subscription

Featured Replies

Can someone who has a Navigraph sub show me what you have in the LNM database, would be appreciated thanks. I'm interested to see how many more markers and waypoints there would be. Below is the default.

Ryzen 5 5600X - Noctua U12A, 32Gb Vengence, Sapphire Pulse 5700xt, WD Black SN750 NVMe SSD

Keep in mind that these numbers show only stuff from the simulator and not the Navigraph database. Additionally features are de-duplicated which affects the results too.

Just pulled a few numbers from my testing environment (German thousands separator). Not all is updated to the very latest.

X-Plane (with a bunch of add-ons for testing):

Interesting but confusing, I have LNM with a Navigraph 2007 cycle but I'm trying to match up LNM with the Navigraph cycle and MSFS. So even if I update MSFS with a Navigraph sub, the RNAV waypoints will not show up on the MSFS world Map ?

All the RNAV waypoints from Navigraph will show up on the world map. There should be a lot fewer markers in the MSFS world than actually exist in the sim. The outer markers at my home airport were decommissioned in 2014, and are still there in MSFS default scenery. The FAA has removed several hundred outer and middle markers from service in the last few years - but all are still present in MSFS. With the universal availability of GPS in aviation, marker beacons really no longer serve a purpose. Inner markers associated with CATIII approaches will probably be left in place though.

Thanks for that, very informative. I'll give the Navigraph sub a try.

All waypoints are read from MSFS stock and merged with the Navigraph update. Some features like SID, STAR and removing of navaids is not supported yet by LNM. I just remove duplicates after loading.

Also keep in mind when using MSFS with or without Navigraph navdata update to minmize issues:
https://www.littlenavmap.org/manuals/littlenavmap/release/2.6/en/SCENERY.html#load-scenery-library-dialog-msfs-apt-navdata

And be aware what features LNM takes from what database:
https://www.littlenavmap.org/manuals/littlenavmap/release/2.6/en/NAVDATA.html
The list below "Use Navigraph for Navaids and Procedures" is not complete. Markers are now also taken from the simulator database.

To get counts for airports and navaids you can use a tool like SQLiteStudio and look at the LNM Sqlite databases.

Hope this helps a bit.
