Purchase Pending - never executes

Featured Replies

Tried to to make my first purchase & download (MB 339) from the market place. I just get a "purchase pending" banner, but the purchase never happens. I let it sit for a couple hours and still no progress. Any suggestions? Thanks

Yes.

Contact Asobo via Zendesk and ask for them to clear the purchase or push it through, or you can wind up with future purchases blocked by the error, and you will also possibly find it difficult (or impossible) to download upcoming world updates.

OK thanks. I knew there was a reason I never wanted to try this!

After several hours and various attempts, Including experimenting with the Xbox software (which I had deleted from my PC) and my Microsoft account - I was finally able to acquire the MB339. It turns out that the "purchase pending" issue is well-known. several recommended solutions can be found online. I tried a couple, unsuccessfully. The one that eventually worked for the Steam-based product was to log onto Steam and in the General menu set your software to allow the Steam overlay to be active with your gaming software. Now comes the troublesome part: You must also go into your game inventory list, choose MSFS 2020 and also check the box there to specifically allow MSFS to run the overlay. This option was grayed out to me and could not be selected. I thus began a multi-hour wrestling match - booting into MSFS and Steam over and over, and testing to see if the download was enabled. No matter what I tried, Steam would never allow me to select the overlay for MSFS. Eventually, after booting yet again into Steam and repeating the same process, the MSFS checkbox was suddenly select-able! I was then able to boot up MSFS again, and my purchase began to process. Why that checkbox was was not available to me through multiple attempts - and then was suddenly clickable - I haven't the faintest idea! It must be some issue with Steam itself. This frustrating little adventure exposed me to the many accounts out there of frustrated Marketplace users, who, for one reason or another are having major issues. Many just skip the Marketplace altogether and buy directly from the 3rd-party vendors, who, in this case actually listed a higher price than the one available through the marketplace. Up until now, I have been running strictly vanilla - not wanting to hassle with moving files or getting updates when the sim is still young and flawed in so many areas. I assumed that because this one was offered through the Marketplace, updates might be less iffy. I am looking forward to getting into the MB 339, as it offers speed and altitude, otherwise only available through the sim's more complex, and harder to fly tube-liners. Time will tell. Good Luck.

Same problem.  Gave up on Marketplace a long time ago.  I figured if it didn't matter to Microsoft then it didn't matter to me.  Disappointing...but at least I don't have to wait now for Marketplace to receive updates to products.
