Way to remove panel from VC?

Featured Replies

I am flying the 172 (or other single) on a 4 monitor setup. It would be nice to have the prop effect in the VC cockpit view visible without the panel. So...is it possible to either remove the panel from the virtual cockpit view or add the prop effect to the 2d view (with the panel turned off)? Any ideas on how I can accomplish this? Thanks!dlb

It just requires a simplehex edit to change 2 values in the files and the VCwill no longer be displayed. Paul

Removing the VCockpitXX sections will only get rid of the gauges. The only way you might get rid of the visual vc model and leave the prop would be to edit all the textures used for the vc panel to be transparent. With FSX there's no need to 'hex edit' anything, since the VC is simply the seperate xxx_interior.mdl......simply edit the model.cfg file and comment out the interior entry to get rid of it entirely! ;)

Hi,that is the way ! You should have told me earlier, because I needed days to find it out.I am flying with 5 views. Therefore it was necessary for me, to get rid of the cockpit parts in the side views. And nobody else in different forums found the solution, until I tried everything and got it several days ago.Happy landingsArry
