December 28, 200619 yr Installed FSX successfully last night. However, first thing that I notice is that after the generating display bar completes the screen goes completely bright green for a couple of seconds and then displays the scene. This occurs also after changing display settings. Not a great problem, but have never seen before with FS9. Has any one else experienced such an anomoly?Cheers,Stuart
December 28, 200619 yr Yes. It doesn't happen every time nor is it allways green...sometimes other colors. And, just for an instant, I can see the 3D shape/outline of the instrument panel sans textures. You can make out the cutouts for the gauges but no gauges. I just figured my old, tired, outdated computer was being asked to do too much :)P4 641 3.2GHz @ 3.6GHzATI X800XT PE AGP8 latest ATI drivers (6.14.??)2GB DDRXP Home SP2
December 28, 200619 yr Me. too - but mine is not old and outdated. I think that it's probably (but not necessarily) a video driver issue, as I had this with FS9 and my old ATI X1600 card. Rolling back the driver worked. I used to get splashes of block-like mountain forms at the "back" of the scenery, kind-of off in the distance, with black, white and greenish vertical bars in very harsh focus. With FSX I see a grey contoured instrument panel agains a white background. It lasts for maybe a second. I believe this is the full screen loading into ram and video ram. I would expect it to take a second or so, 'cos it's painting a lot more information than with FS9.pj i7 [email protected] | 32GB RAM | EVGA RTX 3080Ti | Maximus Hero VII | 512GB 860 Pro | 512GB 850 Pro | 256GB 840 Pro | 2TB 860 QVO | 1TB 870 EVO | Seagate 3TB Cloud | EVGA 1000 GQ | Win10 Pro | EK Custom water cooling.
December 28, 200619 yr Author Thanks for the replies. At least I know its a common occurance.Guess if it annoys too much I might try rolling back the video driver. I'm currently running the latest NVidia 93.71 drivers.Cheers,Stuart
