So, why am I getting the source not found files? Oh so close, but still yet so far from flying once again. Did you try installing by double-clicking on Setup Prepar3D.exe?

That was the first thing I tried, just like installing any other program. But when I go to click on any of the three SMI files when I'm told it isn't in the installation when I click on the main install.exe. File, I go to the zip folder and click on each of the three msi files and I get source file not found. The only option I have is to repair it, which I do. But I don't have a install option. Many thanks. Ron who's still grounded until he can figure out this mystery out.

After extraction, then run the installer again.

Ok, I'm doing the following: 1. Yes, I have a extrated setup file and went to it's properties and made sure that Admin and change for all users were checked. I also tapped my appications key and went to run as admin tand said yes when the security message poped up at me. I clicked on the I agree and clicked on install. This is the progress thus far. I'm now just about to start the install of the file: Install_Client.msi Now for some bad news. I just now attempted to install the above mentioned file. The options I have are Cancil, repair and or to remove. Now, I've repaired until I'm blue in the face. What do I do to fix this issue? Many thanks. Ron

Ron Client.msi is just a component of the Full v5 Installer. The other two being Content and Scenery, all with the suffix .msi. Those three files can be used to repair your full installation once it has been completed, if you need to fix/repair a specific area e.g. client, scenery or content. What you need to do is to double-click only the Prepar3d.exe, use Administrative privileges as necessary, and point the install location to a place on your hard-drive capable of storing the deflated-app and associated addons you may add later. If you can, please do not install it to your C/Program Files folder. Keep us posted on your progress Hope this helps, kind regards

I don't even touch any one of the three MSI files. Correct? 2. I understand not to place it in my program folder, even though it will go into that folder by default. Can I install it into my program files (x86 folder? If not, which folder should I install it into? Many thanks and sorry to be such a pain in the neck. P.S. So, I should ignore the can't find sorce file error reports, or if I receive the error message, I should try to install all three MSI files to see if that will fix the issue? Many thanks. Ron KR3DOG

Ron KR3DOG Good morning Ron Affirm, None of the MSI Files. Just double-click Setup Prepar3d.exe, and you can install it to C:/P3D (Just create a P3D directory under C if you have no other drives). For now, do not use the MSI files. Keep us posted on your install and let us know if you are able to install the software through to completion. Kind regards

A huge thanks to all of my friends. I am finally successfully have installed p3d academic 5.1. The path I slected is as follows: C:\program files (X86)\Prepar3d. It went in with no issues finally. You may get a prompt on running the software and just use the same ID and password that you used to download the software. Enjoy your flights Keep well and kind regards
