Dramatic restoration of smooth performance...

Featured Replies

...along with magic disappearance of the spinning loading wheel in the lower right of your screen.   In the last 24h I have attempted 4 or 5 flights from KTVL>KACV in the Citation L, and each one started for a minute or so looking fine, able to maintain smooth animation at my vsync to 30Hz.  By the time I got to the runway to proceed to TO the spinning wheel went from every 10 seconds or so to nearly constantly on the last try.  I let each of those flights go around 20 minutes and the stuttering got worse and worse, and I was seeing regular dips from solid 30fps to 29 or 28fps.  And again, the spinning wheel got almost continuous on the last flight.

So I tried uninstalling the suspect Win 10 update, and that did nothing as the last flight proved.

Well, I signed out of the Microsoft Store, and also signed out MSFS (Xbox Live technically, thru MSFS upper right account area).  Well, I am delighted to report I'm now 20 minutes into this incredible flight and not one spinning wheel loading indicator, and not one stutter!  I'm afraid this won't last so will report back if I make it to KACV w/o a hitch.  I mean it has been absolutely unflyable and I told myself I would quit, but glad I tried one more approach....so far anyway!

Oh, and I did not sign back into the store, but loading MSFS forces you to sign back in to Xbox Live, so that happened.

Saddendum ;o(    about 30m out the weird FPS drops resumed down into the low 20's and stuttering was a mess.  The spinning wheel never did reappear, but clearly a big core defect persists.  I thought it must be too good to be true. Others have mentioned performance degrades the longer the flight.
