British radio telephony phrases

Featured Replies

Is there any prospect of expanding the range of phrases in Pilot2ATC to include some standard british pilot radio telephony phrases such as 'request basic service' , 'request joining instructions', 'turning final runway 21 to land' or the ATC phrase on contact 'pass your message'?

Hello Dave

Sorry for late reply, just seen your request!

Here is a link to the official document you want: https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/modalapplication.aspx?catid=1&appid=11&mode=detail&id=6973

There's a pdf link to the document You need to go to Chapter 3, General Phraseology.  Para 3.25 gives the initial call details for IFR flights, 3.28 the same for VFR. It then goes on to detail passing message details, position reporting etc etc.  This is very detailed.

Also you can look at this guide for general aviation pilots,  provided as a supplement to the above, which is more user-friendly:

http://www.takeflightaviation.co.uk/uploads/7/2/0/9/72092367/radio_telephony_guide_caa.pdf

I think this should provide you with what you need.

HI @Dave-Pilot2ATC

Was this ever implemented, im a IRL UK pilot so this is crucial for me. Im a previous user of the old VOXAtc which delivered CAA Phraseology, if Pilot2ATC can do it now I will be purchasing straight away.

Many thanks,

James.
