June 11, 20214 yr Author Fantastic story, made me quite emotional when he turned up at Duxford to see the aircraft. Avoided death multiple times during the mishap. And what an incredible aircraft the Lightning was. Had the pleasure of seeing it display at an airshow in Devon many years ago, Deafening it was and that rate of climb phenomenal.
