Theoretically yes, P4AO should't really care. But the entire program, including the documentation, is just 2 MByte in size - why install it somewhere else?

Good point there. My C is only 240 GB and I haven't yet gotten an m.2 drive. 

Right now I have like 43.2 gb remaining free so I guess addon won't stretch it.

I do plan to setup virtual folder door for Orbx and put those files on D. That will clear about 45 gb.
