Flight gets "lost" during trip

Featured Replies

Ran into an issue on my last flight where Pilot2ATC lost track of where I was waypoint wise, causing it to never have me descend, etc.  After I landed, it quickly cycled through each waypoint on the FPL screen as if it was speed reading to catch up through them.

In the future if I encounter this, what's the best way to force pilot2atc to track you from a specific waypoint on the trip.  Example Flight is A-Z.  It thinks I'm at F but really I'm between M and N.  How do I tell it that the next waypoint in the list for me is N?  Refile?  Edit the flight plan and refile?

In most cases, you can do the following to get back on track:

  1. Disconnect/Reconnect P2A
  2. File Flight Plan again
  3. Make initial contact with controller: <CallSIgn> at Flight Level xxx

This should force P2A to figure out where you are and pick up the flight from there.  This will work most of the time, but if you are, for example, in the middle of getting vectors to final, it will not work.
