July 10, 20214 yr Once in a while I see stutters when making turns over large cities. When checking the main thread core it is at 100% that moment, but it also remains at 100% when flying over rural terrain. So I guess that at startup this core is already at 100%. With Proces Lasso I then simply disable that main thread core and load back into MSFS. Immediately another core becomes the main thread core at then stays at 85-90% when making the same turn over that large city. I also can switch back on the former main thread core and then it also stays at 85-90% max, Imho it would be better if at startup the main thread core was already lower than 100%. Pausing while in flight just to make changes to the affinity is not that great while sitting in a full size home cockpit ….. Anyone else experienced this behavior too ? 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0
July 11, 20214 yr Author Seeing the update vid they have rewritten parts of the engine so the main core will be taxed less and more load is put on the GPU, which is good. I hope that they also look into this affinity issue and solve it. Otherwise the main thread core might be having a max load of 75-80% after the update, where, when applying this affinity trick, the max load could be even lower like 50-60%.
