MSFS - New PC Build suggestions/advice

Featured Replies

Hello all,

Just a quick-fire thread to hopefully get some pointers of where I can or should go for my new PC build.

I'll be honest, I get a bit overwhelmed with PC specs and configurations, what works best with what etc. and without sounding lazy, I am just too busy with everyday life to learn about it quickly.

I am returning to the simming world after a 4-5 year break, MSFS has pulled me back in. I don't own a PC currently as I game on PS4/5 so I am looking for a complete build or guide of what to buy. Like most, I want good frames in built up areas (EGLL, KFJK, Downtown NYC etc) with AI traffic on high settings but I am aware that may not be possible until after the next update on July 27th?

My budget is around £1500-£2000 and am UK based.

Sorry if this is a lazy approach, I don't mean it to come across that way. I just want to go online, order a PC and play the game with no issues, so I thought it'd be appropriate to get opinions and suggestions from people who quite frankly will know a lot more than me!

Cheers all

That kind of money will get you a good but not exceptional system, good frames around EGLL and KFJK are possible but you'll need to turn down some sliders and manage your expectations accordingly.

These two are ususally pretty good and their FS systems are well balanced.

Don't forget you'll also probably want some kind of flight controls, the more the merrier in my opinion, and that can start adding up.

Thanks iwebber, i will take a look. Happy to purchase hardware controls in the future yes, i just want a good base PC to give me a nice smooth experience. I will then be able to clue myself up and purchase upgrades on RAM, GPU etc later down the line 🙂

Thanks again for your links and recommendations.

Certainly at this time most strongly consider a fully built system that contains an nVidia RTX 3070 or above.  As cards they are extremely difficult to come by and overpriced based on supply/demand.  The known and reputable systems builders appear to have a pipeline.
