July 23, 20214 yr Heh, I grew up on Lynch's Dune. I was such a sci-fi geek then (still am), but it was *so* different from the typical sci-fi I was used to. I enjoyed the epic-ness of the story, though. A couple of years ago, I finally got around to reading the book and, boy, the book is MUCH more dense and packed with so much stuff that the movie didn't even touch. It was a little hard to follow, I have to admit, because of the concentration required to follow Herbert's thinking. I'm a fan of Denis Villeneuve as he's directed some visually stunning movies like Blade Runner 2049, Arrival and Sicario. I have high hopes for this movie. I plan to watch The King on Netflix (I think it's still on there), as it stars Timotheé Chalamet as the titular king. He's looking like "the next big thing" in Hollywood with his acting chops.
