Did a few more flights for testing and increased the LOD's in the config file. Not much visual difference between LOD 6 and 12.   GPU memory budget stays at around 4.3 GB of 11.20 GB.  

That's 7GB not used / wasted.  The outer scenery is still blurry, flat and dull looking.

This is a serious issue.
