Thanks for replying!  However, it was a rectal-cranial inversion on my part. My P3D traffic sliders were at zero.  There went several hours of my life I can't get back....

I also have an issue with no aircraft showing up: firstly when i open p3d, it says folder containing AIG's scenery is not found. I installed fedex, and singapore airlines + cargo, and that's all. nothing else happened (air traffic set to 40%, AIGFP turned on
