Prepar3d Version 4.5 CTD GTN 750

Featured Replies

So, back in spring after downloading and installing Prepar3d v4.5 I was plagued by CTDs every time I would fly with A2A Bonanza using GTN 750. In frusteration I did a complete rebuild of Windows 10 and reinstalled everything. It is very disappointing because I never had CTD using the same apps in FSX-SE. I am going to give as much information as I can and I am going to try to resolve it without going nuclear this time. After rebuilding Windows 10 I had good success with GTN. No CTDs. I kept postponing updates but one day, August 6th MS caught me tired and unawares. and again on the 14th but I caught that one in time to roll it back. I since learned how to go into control panel and turn off updates all together, Here is my system.

I posted the second error because it occured 7 seconds ahead of the CTD

I will do my best to follow any recommendations. I will also attempt the same flight with a different GTN equipped aircraft and also the A2A Bonnie using GNS instead.

Thanks in advance.

So, I completed the same flight using a different GTN 750 equipped plane. I chose the Carenado PA-31.

KCPK-KYJO About 90 NM

I used flight following. No troubles. Did the ILS RNY 17 at Leesburg. Parked, shutdown. No trouble. When I started the flight with the A2A Bonnie CTD in 10 minutes over Yorktown.

I have two other GTN equipped planes in P3D V4.5. The Alabeo 421c and the Carenado PC-12. I will do next flight with 421c IFR Leesburg to Bradford. I will report what happens. I'm starting to suspect the demanding load of the Accusim has an influence.

Hi,

Have you managed to do other flights since then?

I've been trying to find any appropriate information for what could be causing the 0xc0020001 exception and all I've been able to find is:

- it seems to be happening mostly with apps mixing native and managed code in DLLs.

- there is a topic on the P3D forums where it finally resolved itself!? https://prepar3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=132071

However what is certain is that: atioglxx.dll  is the ATI Driver OpenGL component and this is the one failing here. What you could try to do to help identifying the possible cause, is to add the following in the RealityXP.GTN.ini file in the aircraft folder which is crashing:

[GTN_750_1]
...

LogTrainer = 3
DebugValue = 1

NB: this is documented p26 of the RXP GTN User's Manual.
