I start off with a Plantronics headset and set up the aircraft in 2D, get my ATC IFR plan with a scratch pad, then switch to my Reverb headset when ready to fly.  The speakers switchover, but the microphone doesn't in P2A.  I did find that connect/reconnect in P2A switched over the microphone to the Reverb, but then my flight planning didn't survive.

Windows Control Panel reflected the in/out with Reverb while I was looking for a magic button in P2A.   Does this have a fix?  thanks

Unfortunately for your scenario, the Microphone is set during Connect when the Speech Recognition Engine is started.  There is no magic button to restart the Speech Engine while connected.
