LINDA lose contact with P3D

Featured Replies

I use LINDA latest version for P3D v 5.2 HF1 and mainly for A2A aircraft. I also have the latest version of FSUIPC. Now has a problem with A2A PIPER PA28 180 CHEROKEE. I use the latest module v 1.2. The problem is that LINDA seems to lose contact with the simulator and that it constantly gets reload LNDA. Then it works for a few minutes then the contact is lost again. It has worked before and I do not know what has changed for this particular aircraft. For other A2A aircraft LINDA work flawlessly. Does anyone here have an idea of where to start troubleshooting. Reinstallation of the current module maybe ??

Please read and follow the fault diagnosis procedure (under LINDA Support) and email me the logs.

Hi Thomas

Thank you for sending the logs. They show me that LINDA is correctly starting, detecting the aircraft and actioning buttons.

Your comment that things start initially and then stops after a period suggests another problem. Win10 tries to shutdown USB ports to save power. You need to ensure this is action is turned off. Even if you have done this in the past, unplugging USBs to another position means you need to do it again. See procedure under LINDA Support on power management.

Hi Andrew

I have found the two current USB ports in Windows Device Manager. I have unticked 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' checkbox for both. Sorry to say nothing changes when i start the simulator. After a few minutes LINDA lose contact with P3D. I have also checked in Device Manager that the uncheck remains.

I have a thought. If it depends on the USB ports, how can LINDA work with all other aircraft and their modules? I would be grateful if you could give me a hint on what to try.

I've solved the problem. On my Honeycomb Alfa joystick I have always had button 1 assigned to LOCAL SHIFT. For some reason I do not understand, this connection has been moved to Hatswitch up H1: 1 in LINDA. This Hatswitch up H1: 1 is also connected to the Chaseplane with the Reset cam position function. It's a feature I often use to restore the cockpit's sight straight ahead. This means that when, after moving around in the cockpit with the help of my X-box controller that I use to control the camera, I press the Hat switch up to return to the view ahead, I have at the same time received the command LOCAL SHIFT and then have no buttons worked. Amazing how complicated it can be.

Many thanks for all the help and all the work you put into fantastic LINDA!
