Garmin 400/500 Lite trainer not powering up

Featured Replies

I tried to run the trainer today but it will not power up. It was installed in May and it worked then.

I did go as far as uninstalling and reinstalling with newly downloaded files, but I get the same result, pressing the Comm for power does not power up the unit.

Any ideas how to get this thing working again?

Hi,

If you're talking about the GNS trainer standalone, this is normal and expected.

If however it doesn't power up in the simulator, can you please post the content of the RXP log files? (see user's manual for file/path).

Hi,

I appreciate the response but I have a problem with your explanation.

As you can see below the  GTN750 Trainer works and I can power it up and simulate a flight and train using the unit.

The same cannot be said of this other unit  that does not power up, even though in one of the pics as you can see, I can adjust the speed, altitude and mode. Powering the display does not work.

Also the manual included with the trainers contradicts your statement. The manual was included as part of the package I bought from Reality-XP. What should I believe now?

PS: The unit installed in the sims do work.

So to sum up: the Reality XP solution is working fine so far so good.

But you do have a problem when I'm explaining the trainer can't power up standalone. Unfortunately I don't know how to solve this problem?! In any case, this won't change the fact you can't power up the GNS trainer which is shipping with the RXP solution, when running the trainer standalone.

So what is the actual problem you'd like to solve when running it standalone and which you can't when running it in the simulator?

I have had a similar problem ever since I bought Reality xp for P3D v5.3.  When I try to install the prog. it comes up with an error stating that the GNS 400W-530W series trainer lite_330 has an unexpected error......

If I cancel this error the prog seems to install correctly and shows up in P3D and I am able to click on it and all appears to be working EXCEPT that I cannot turn on the GNS at all, I.E it does not work !!!!

I have all the very latest of all the progs installed.

@rodders1947 Hi,

the error message during installation can be safely ignored like you did. A few other customers are also having the same message during installation and so far it doesn't seem to have any incidence on the product operation in the simulator.

However I'll repeat myself: the GNS trainer can't run standalone. This is not a bug, it is how it is.
