A couple of old radials

Featured Replies

Hey Folks,

Here we have a couple of old radial engined aircraft.

The first is the Manfred Jahn Douglas C-47 in PDR, I just love flying this aircraft and have 30 PBR liveries installed and also have added the GTN 750 GPS unit and some additonal sound enhancements.

The pilots are talkative and there is some quite suggestive banter between Nancy the flight attendant and pilots at times.

The first officer even sings a song of C-47 lament 🙂

Getting ready for take off @ Gisbourne Airport in New Zealand.

And this is the stock Electra included in P3D.

Never flown it prior but it's actually quite fun to fly. Both are quite different to modern jets and turboprops, life certainly was a different era back then these old radials were the mainstream.

Climbing out of Wellington New Zealand, seems rare to have sunny days when I fly in NZ, I suppose if I took the time to set the date to that of a historically sunny day that'll be the weather I get, otherwise i just let the sim run on either the current live or the historical weather of the saved flight date.
