Creating custom terrain

Featured Replies

So this question is for P3D v4 not FSX, but there isn't one specifically for P3D. I would like to make my own fictional airport in P3D. Basically I am creating a home base to use for my private fleet, and ultimately eventually make a custom house next to the airport where I would live. I was kind of thinking it would be cool to maybe have an airport that's in the middle of the ocean on a fictional island.

So I know a little bit about using ADE and can make a basic airport, but how would I go about generating the terrain for the island? All I would need to do is create a slightly raised area of terrain that is big enough to fit the airport and house. The runway will be long as I want it to be long enough to handle 747's at full weight.

Also, could I use the ground textures from an addon airport on my airport, so I can have highly detailed runways and taxiways? Obviously this is not something I would ever release to the public and would just be for my own use.

Thanks.

I have no experience at all on P3D scenery making.

Not sure if Airport Design Editor and Sbuilder will work.

Maybe you can try asking in the P3D forum.
