October 7, 20214 yr I have a question for other users (like me ) who are using Radar Contact v4 with p3d. I find it still to be a reliable and accurate ATC addon for P3d. My question is how do other users handle short flights? For example, if I fly the route between CYVR an CYYJ, it is about a 30 minute flight, but the algorithm which vectors the aircraft for an ILS approach, takes almost as much distance as the original flight plan. Anyone found a solution? RC users only, please.
October 7, 20214 yr I either ask for a visual approach whenever possible or for "the full ILS" approach. I'm then responsible for my own guidance until close to the field where Approach asks me to contact Tower. You could also tell ATC that you could "take any shortcuts they may have." This normally results in a much shorter downwind. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library

October 7, 20214 yr @DA2XX it's called a "Short Final" request. From page 57 of the RC manual: "You can ask Approach for a Short Final, an early turn onto base/final anytime while on their downwind legs. Short final is available on the AdvDisp page 2. Approach will accommodate this request according to traffic load." dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
