March 25, 200719 yr I just got a wide screen LCD monitor (Costco) and finally returned it. I have FS9 and it seems that no matter what the res settings, the gauges are not round. There are no modes in FS that support wide monitors.Question: has FSX addressed this? or are you round gauges still not round?(please dont move this to the hardware section, it is specific to this game only) CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
March 25, 200719 yr Probably depends on if you are running in 2d cockpit or virtual. The 2d look a little more oval.I am running my Costco monitor in 1440x900-here are two compare shots of a 2d-virtual cockpit and the final the Real Air Marchetti virtual.http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169156.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169157.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/169158.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
March 25, 200719 yr Commercial Member The VC will look fine, but the 2D panel spec in FS is only designed for 4:3 resolutions like what's standard on CRT monitors. Widescreen monitors usually have a 16:10 or 16:9 aspect ratio and that's why you see the stretching in the 2D. It would require the sim to load totally separate panel bitmaps depending on resolution, which FS doesn't currently support. March 25, 200719 yr Author thanks, too bad that you can only get the proper ratio in the 2D mode. Maybe the next release we may see this corrected. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
