October 20, 20214 yr I definitely close the sim "properly" using the UI quit to desktop option yet every time I launch the sim it tells me I didn't shut down properly. I seem to recall this is a bug and related to community addons? Is that the current state, other than disabling adds on one at a time (not a viable option) is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening every time I load up? October 21, 20214 yr it is a long shot, but you can try to delete Content.xml, the game will create a new file when you boot up next time. Edited October 21, 20214 yr by Ixoye System: I ASRock X670E | AMD 7800X3D | 64Gb DDR5 6000 | RTX 4090 | 2TB NVMe | Seasonic Vertex 1000W I LG Ultra Gear 34 UW I
October 21, 20214 yr Another long shot - are you running the Steam version and if so, do you start the sim by opening Steam first, or clicking a direct shortcut? I ask this because when you exit the sim to the desktop and you have started the sim inside Steam, the Steam desktop appears on closing the sime and it is clearly visible that the sim still takes another 2-3 seconds before it shows as being shut down in the Steam desktop. It seems like you are shuting down the sim as normal but something is causing the sim to consider itself as having crashed in the final moments of shutting down. That's why it wants to open in safe mode all the time. So, again assuming you are using Steam, open Steam, then open MSFS from inside Steam and do not close Steam. When you do close the sim, take note of the "running" button on the Steam desktop once the sim shuts down. On my system, it shows "Running" for a couple seconds before it changes back to "Play" or something like that.
