No smoke(metar)

Featured Replies

Today i flied to delhi india, metar says smoke and visibility 2k meters. But when i arrived to delhi, there is no smoke and visibility ok. I think smoke is not simulated by weather engine, Right?

The weather engine doesn’t take metar visibility into account for the visuals. All it uses is the wind, pressure and temperature when near airports. The visuals come from meteoblue’s forcast data.

And it probably doesn’t simulate smoke either way.

As i expected. Maybe some day, third party developers will write a program like active sky based on metars. But for now it seems there is no work around.

There's already two. One free, one paid.

The sim update coming on the 18th is also improving METAR usage.

What about the Aerosol injections ?   On Windy.Com as I type this it is showing a lot of aerosol on the map over India.
