November 18, 20214 yr I updated the sim and did 1 flight then exited to desktop. Now when I try to open the sim I get the message "you are missing essential packages that are essential to run MSFS2020, please update the application" and just gives me the option to quit. Why is this? November 18, 20214 yr Same here. Downloaded the 33 gigs and started in windowed mode. Mouse wasn't working in the menus so I quit and restarted. Then this message. Unbelivable.
November 18, 20214 yr Author It has something to do with the mods in the community folder. If I disable all addons with Addon Linker I can get in the sim without the error. If I enable the mods again I get the error. November 18, 20214 yr I had to download an additional 5 kb on startup. Maybe that was the missing file. It started ok now but only a few items in the Community folder. EDit. Mouse not working on the world map. Bummer Edited November 18, 20214 yr by Borgillios

November 18, 20214 yr I got it working now when I deleted all sim mods and all aircraft mods. One of them is the culprit. The mouse panning is fixed, thank you.
November 18, 20214 yr If you believe a mod is the problem, don't go through the lengthy process of trying them one by one, especially if you have a lot of mods. The scientific way is to load half your mods at first. If the sim runs fine, you know those mods are not the problem, so load the other half. Once you have problem, disable half of the group of mods which appear to have one or more issues and keep doing that (halving the active mods) until you only have (hopefully) just the one mod which causes the issue.
