November 24, 20214 yr Hi Since upgrading to Win 11, P2ATC no longer detects my microphone. I've gone through and checked the Mic privacy settings and P2A is set to use microphone. I've tested voice detection within OneNote and it parses my voice into text. But using the grammar helper in p2A, no voice detected. I'm set to US English Is there a key setting I need to setup? thanks Martyn
November 24, 20214 yr Commercial Member Make sure to set the Mic to the default Audio Input device in Windows Settings Sound. Dave
November 24, 20214 yr Author Thank you for the response. Mic all set as default but no joy https://www.dropbox.com/s/gz79o4fdbi2jg0u/Screenshot 2021-11-24 192453.png?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/b7bvhx23ze3kuam/Screenshot 2021-11-24 192854.png?dl=0 Not sure if those image links are viewable. No worries though, I can just use Sayit for my flights. Still better than MSFS ATC 😄
November 24, 20214 yr Commercial Member According to the first image, you have the Microphone disabled. Just enable it and you should be back to normal. Dave
November 24, 20214 yr Author It's not a well design screen in the options. The button 'Don't Allow' means it is currently set to Allow and click the button if you do not want to allow permissions. So when I click it, it is now disabled https://www.dropbox.com/s/tggm4oalgci9qct/Screenshot 2021-11-24 202112.png?dl=0
November 24, 20214 yr Commercial Member I didn't notice it was a button, sorry. Looking at the Grammar Helper shot, all looks like it's set up correctly. The only thing it could be that I can think of is the Mic is muted, or the microphone level settings in WIndows may be too low. To set those, you can go into Control Panel (The old one) by going to Settings->Sound-> and then select the link on the right to Sound Control Panel. Select Recording tab and then select your headphone. Go to the Levels tab and be sure they are turned up. I have mine set all the way up, but you'll need to be sure that doesn't cause distortion by listening to the results on the Listen tab. While you're there, you could check the Advanced tab. Some users have reported that lowering the Mic format to DVD quality or CD quality got them going again. Dave
November 25, 20214 yr Author Thank you for the guidance Dave. In the end I removed all mic settings and my physical microphone. restarted Windows and went carefully through all settings including the CD quality setting you described. Bingo 😃 https://www.dropbox.com/s/1os24vw3i9xbj5r/Screenshot 2021-11-25 084024.png?dl=0
