April 21, 200719 yr Moderator If you are running FS9 & FSX on the same system and in the same partition, I'd like to double check something.Run regedit and try to locate the following key:HKLM_SoftwareMicrosoftMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9.0It WAS there before I installed FSX as the key is used by some programs to look up the install folder. After installing FSX, to a different drive/folder but same partition, the 9.0 is gone and there is a 10.0 instead.Of course, FS9 still runs as does FSX but *on my system* any program trying to get registry info on FS will think it's not installed.I'm assuming that installing to a different partition would create a different registry.I'd appreciate if anyone could verify this.Thanx!Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
April 21, 200719 yr That registry key sometimes gets zapped during an uninstall of FSX.It also appears that some payware addons will delete the key because they look for the highest FS version in the registry. There are several files in download libraries and some of the payware sites which fix this minor inconvenience.
April 21, 200719 yr *Raises hand* Yep, I qualify, run both and had the same problem you're having, and fixed it.....here's how, rather than re-write it all again this is a link to my similar experience and fix......g'luck!!!http://com-central.net/index.php?name=Foru...iewtopic&t=5885(Be sure to read past the little bit about having trouble with FSX registry entries too.....that was caused by not looking in the right reistry area, which can differ depending on whether you installed FSX as Admin privy or not)
