April 21, 200719 yr My FSX machine is currently being in built with Vista 32. I have used Ken Salter's FSAutostart with FS-9 under XP. Is there anything like that out there for Vista? If no program, has anyone seen a list of unnecessary/programs that can safely be shut down prior to starting FSX? I understand there are 40 something such items operating in the background of Vista.Thank you,Steve

April 22, 200719 yr One program i have found very usefull is Vista Smoker Pro 1.1. This has a facility of what is called "Game Mode" It closes all non essential programs and services and really does improve the performance of FSX. There is a trial before you buy available at their website.RegardsPete
April 22, 200719 yr I attached the On and Off batch files I use. The first turns on Game mode (stops services). The second turns off game mode (starts services). This is for Vista.
