December 24, 20214 yr I feel that it takes a very long time to turn any knob with my scroll wheel. Is there a way to get that to recognize it quicker? I had to take off from a south facing runway and make an immediate turn to 280 and it took forever for me to scroll from 160 to 280. Is there a way to change that? December 24, 20214 yr And thats why a lot of use build a flight panel with rotorary encoders. You could get a stream deck and program a button press or download a premade SD profile. I think back in X-plane someone made a mod for easier knob turning. But having to turn knobs with a mouse made me build my own flight panel with digital encoders and a Arduino Mega clone using Mobiflight software. There are some premade panels you can buy. December 25, 20214 yr Mobiflight just keeps going from strength to strength. Amazing software and fantastic forum and Discord support. Used to write arduino code and use Link2FS, but Mobiflight just fantastic and expanding into potentiometers and new hardware in recent versions.
December 25, 20214 yr They also added support for the Inexpensive Uno. If you just want a few knobs and have fun learning to solder and connet wiring to make a mini panel, this is a great opportunity. You dont need to make a big comittment and you can grow the panel as you feel you need to.I just use the arduino wires (get on ebay ~ $3.00 ) and add a little coating of solder to the male connections to make them tighter. Then merge the ground and power with a simple pigtail or block. Assign mobiflight knobs and button using simple pull down menus. It just needs to know what connection number you use on the Uno to create modules that are easily assigned to the button or knobs. I'm not smart with mobiflight and cant use some of the more powerful features, but I can use drop down menus. They have youtube tutorials on the main website judt to tie up some lose ends. Buying good rotary encoders is key. The cheap ones that dont use a tiny circuit board had pratically a 100% failure rate. I toook one apart and can say it could have come out of a Crackerjax Box. Stero systems and Car radios have good ones if you want to get into desoldering.
