January 5, 20224 yr P2ATC always takes me into a Extended Final upon landing and deviates from Flight Plan while doing this. Is there a way to turn this off or what is your thoughts here.?
January 5, 20224 yr Commercial Member When creating the vector route, P2A will almost always add the Extended final. You can lower the value in the Vector Leg Distance option to make it, and all the other vector legs shorter.
February 22, 20233 yr do you have any suggestions for these 2 settings? i currently have 3 for vector leg and 1 for final. Trying to figure out how they change the approach. thanks!
February 22, 20233 yr Commercial Member Vector leg length depends on approach pattern speeds and turn rates. The wider the turns, and faster the approach pattern speeds, the longer the vector leg length should be. For Airliners and fast Biz Jets, 4-5 for Vector Leg Length is a good setting. 2-4 for turbo-props, depending on speeds during approach pattern. 1-3 for faster prop planes. Ext Final is added to give extra time to line up on final and will vary depending on the pilot's experience level. I have mine set to 0.5, but less experienced pilots should leave it at 1 NM.
